The “Green environment” project is completed!
Through 12 interactive workshops, students from Elementary School Odra and Elementary School Ivo Andrić had the opportunity to explore how their daily activities can contribute to environmental protection.
Using real-life examples, students discovered ways to reduce waste. They concluded that, besides recycling, one effective method is to find a new purpose for items instead of discarding them, giving them a second life through reuse and repurposing.
During a simulated shopping experience in our special store, students explained how plastic is useful in everyday life but also why it is harmful to the environment and human health. They explored alternative solutions to replace plastic. To conclude, they created posters where they carefully sorted different types of waste as correctly as possible.
These activities encouraged students to engage with environmental issues in a new and innovative way. We also motivated them to develop strong environmental values from an early age, enabling them to recognize and address environmental challenges in their local communities.
This project was co-financed by the City of Zagreb.
